Monsoon is here, but rains in 2 days
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 05 June 2013 17:10 IST

Goa may have to wait for couple of days more for actual rainfall of monsoon, though it has ‘officially’ arrived in the coastal state.
Monsoon has officially advanced to Goa, but normal rainfall is missing not only in Goa but also in Karnataka and Kerala.
“Our parameters show that the monsoon has arrived, but rainfall has slowed down in almost all the states”, states K V Singh, director of India Meteorological Centre in Goa.
The official records also show ‘nil’ rainfall in the last 24 hours in Goa, compared to pre-monsoon showers.
Sunday (2 June) in fact witnessed almost 21. 8 mm of rainfall.
“It will start raining in a couple of days”, predicts Singh.
The official forecast also predicts moderate rainfall from 8 June, means coming Sunday and “cloudy sky with thundery development” till then.
The temperature is however still running between 23 ⁰C to 31 ⁰C.
