Hill cutting at Govind Parvatkar's Kundai industrial plot
Yet another Bharatiya Janata Party leader, this time Govind Parvatkar, is caught up in a controversy over alleged hill cutting at his industrial plot at Kundaim industrial estate.
Kundaim Nagrik Kruti Samiti has alleged that Parvatkar is illegally cutting the hillock adjoining his plot by misusing government vehicles, in violation of rules.
Parvatkar however denied the charges, terming it as a political vendetta, and claimed that he has not committed any kind of illegality.
According to Nitesh Satarkar, president of the KNKS, trucks carrying “On Govt Duty” labels are transporting the mud from the plot.
According to Parvatkar, he has hired private trucks, which might have been on government duty earlier but did not remove the labels.
Satarkar has also joined with local panch Kishori Gaude and 15 other villagers, who alleged that Parvatkar is ruining the village springs and wells as this mud would slide down during rainy season.
Parvatkar however said he is neither cutting any hill nor dumping the mud in the village but supplying it to Konkan Railway Corporation.
According to him, he is just clearing the mud dumped on his plot while constructing Kundai-Madkai by pass two years ago.
While stating that the Congress government had not allowed him to clear the mud, Parvatkar claims he has now started the work after acquiring all the necessary legal permissions.
Satarkar however alleges that a flying squad of IDC had seized one earthmover and two trucks on 2 October 2011 for illegally carrying out excavation activity at the same plot.
Parvatkar dismisses Satarkar’s allegation that it is a decade-long plot, claiming that he acquired it only three years ago.
He plans to set up an automobile service, called “Gurukrupa Auto Services.’’
The KNKS however has filed a complaint against this activity with IDC and have served ultimatum to take the issue in the court of law.
