Tamankar resignation withdrawn, claims Reginald

Congress spokesperson Aleixo Reginald Lourenco today evening announced that his colleague Sudip Tamankar has withdrawn his resignation and the issue is being resolved.
Tamankar had resigned even from primary membership of the party alleging that GPCC president Subhash Shirodkar is inefficient and hesitates to take action against Dabolim MLA Mauvin Godinho.
Godinho had yesterday not participated in the protest in the House by the opposition benches against postponement of Mayor’s election of City Corporation of Panaji.
Later, opposition leader Pratapsing Rane had told goanews.com that the question of taking action does not arise as Godinho had reached the House late and his non-participation was not deliberate.
Following this, Lourenco in the even held a press conference to tell the media that Tamankar had withdrawn his resignation.
“There was a little problem and that is being sorted out”, he claimed, but declined to disclose what the problem was.
When contacted, Tamankar was not aware of what Lourenco had said at the press conference.
“Let me talk to him and get back to you”, he told goanews.com, but did not get back.
Frantic efforts to call him also were in vein.
