Goan boys develop Shout Out App for Girls

Milind Prabhu and Glenn Colaco, two young IT professionals from Goa, have developed a “Shout Out” Mobile App, especially for girls, sending alert messages to five persons as well as emergency services.
The unique free App, developed at Genora Infotech in Verna as a part of its CSR activity, was launched on 8 March, the International Women’s Day.
Within five days, the Shout Out App has ranked within the first 50 popular Apps.
Following a gangrape on a young girl in Delhi as well as continuing sexual attacks on women in several parts of India including Goa, Indian tech firms introduced several apps for women’s safety.
“Our App is most user-friendly and sends an alert message to minimum five persons at a time, while mentioning the GPS location from where the message is sent”, says Milind Prabhu.
The App is presently designed only for Android and easily downloadable from googleplay, occupying hardly 1.6 MB space on your mobile.
“We will shortly design it also for Blackberry, I Phone as well as other phones”, Glenn Colaco informed goanews.com.
The App provides you to store five mobile numbers of your choice.
It does not require GPRS to work and even has a provision to send emergency messages to Police, Fire and Ambulance even from no-range area.
Along with the voice call and text messages, the App also sends out GPS co-ordinates (latitude-longitude) of your location.
It stores on a home screen and works with a simple push button.
The idea is to let friends, family or police find those in trouble and save them.
