Parrikar calls it unrealistic budget
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 28 February 2013 20:25 IST
Chief minister Manohar Parrikar has dubbed union budget as unrealistic, having nothing but facts and hope.
Reacting to the budget, Parrikar said the predicted fiscal deficit at 4.8 was bound to go above 5, just like last year.
He reminded the media persons that the central government had predicted in a similar manner that fiscal deficit would be much low, but it actually went up to 5.2.
According to him, this would happen mainly because the centre was relying more upon liquidating government assets and filling the gap.
"It would not happen because most of the prime assets have already been liquidated and there is no push from developmental side to raise demand", he opined.
