SC to hear Goa mining case only after Odisha & Karnataka
GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 15 February 2013 20:33 IST

Goa's mining case would be the last to come up before the Supreme court.
Hearing on mining cases began in the apex court today, Friday being the mining matters.
However, before Goa, the court decided to take up hearings of Odisha and Karnataka.
Odisha would be heard first, the court stated.
It would be followed by Karnataka.
Goa's mining case would be the last one, after Odisha and Karnataka cases are disposed of.
The hearing of Odisha is expected to begin by Wednesday or Thursday next week.
Almost over four months have passed now that the Goa mining case is pending before the supreme court.
Goa Foundation had approached the apex court after Shah Commission report was tabled in the Parliament.
Pending hearing, the apex court had stayed all the mining operations in Goa.
Goa government had filed an affidavit this week, praying to the court to keep aside the petition and allow Goa to start legal mining.
It is still not known when Goa case hearing would begin.
