Former MLA Vinay Tendulkar has been unanimously elected the Goa president of the Bharatiya Janata Party.

After all kind of speculations, central party observer Kiran Maheshwari today announced that there was only one form for the post.

Tendulkar succeeds health minister Laxmikant Parsekar.

She also said Tendulkar has been honoured for the tireless work he had put in during the Assembly elections in March.

Tendulkar was once elected the MLA from Sanvordem in 1999 Assembly election.

While thanking the party cadres, Tendulkar said he would strengthen the party to win both the Lok Sabha seats in the forthcoming Parliament polls.

“When BJP wins both the seats in Goa, our party comes to power at the centre. Let’s work for it”, he appealed to the workers.

He also expressed confidence that the party would work to increase its Assembly seats from 21 to 27 by next Assembly election.
