100 mining encroachers sent notices

Goa Mines and Geology Department has issued show-cause notices to around 100 mining firms for allegedly encroaching outside their mining leases, which has been pointed out in the Justice MB Shah Commission report on illegal iron ore mining.
The notices, issued on Tuesday by the department have asked all the 100 mine owners why action should not be initiated against them for encroaching outside their mining leases.
They have been given 15 days time to respond.
"Of the total notices issued, 54 are the mining lease holders and rest are individuals," Director of Mines Prasanna Acharya said.
These violations were pointed out by the Shah Commission in its report.
The commission has said that total of Rs 35,000 crore were looted by various mining firms by encroaching outside their mining leases.
The mine owners, however, have denied these allegations saying the encroachments shown in the Commission report were actually leases owned by others.

When it is clearly mentioned in the SHAH commission report that the mining was illegal and there was encroachment, why wait to send the notices? Why are the mining authorities wasting time? Are they allowing time for the mine owners to stash away their illegal cash? Or are they allowing time to manipulate the records?Straight away confiscate their assets and put them behind the bars? Do you ask a thief why he should not be punished when he is caught?
And secondly, this notorious gang of mine owners will come out with many excuses. They will deny any wrongdoings. Look how boldly they deny the allegations with silly excuses. They will go to court. Their pockets are full with Rs. 35000 crores and they won't let it go easily. Goa government has to fight for the recovery of these funds and should start the process immediately! CM needs to act tough against all those involved in illegal mining scam. Goans wants to see the culprits punished.
The best and quick solution is seize their bank accounts, confiscate their assets, sell them in the open market to recover the loot and put all the culprits behind the bars.
All the affected mining workers could be rehabbed with the portion of the recovered loot.
