Goa’s 20-day monsoon Assembly session begins from today, to end on 8 August.
This is the first actual Assembly session chief minister Manohar Parrikar would face while nine-member Congress is expected to face it as an opposition.
Around 2000 questions have been asked, out of which 400 have been asked by independent MLA Vijay Sardesai alone.
Former chief minister Digambar Kamat and Curtorim MLA Alex Reginald Lourenco have also asked sizeable number of questions.
Maximum numbers of questions from the treasury benches have been asked by St Andre MLA Vishnu Wagh, including several questions in Konkani and Marathi.
There are also eight different bills, including four private members’ bills to be presented by
Sardesai.
Around 10 resolutions are also expected.
Sardesai has alleged that there is secret pact between the BJP and the Congress as far as the Assembly session is concerned.
The session would begin with thanks giving motion to Governor’s address, discussion on demands for grants and then department-wise budgetary allocation.
