Cong regime 'job-takers' march to CM

Hundreds of youths, who claimed to be in possession of "offer letters" for government services, given to them in run-up to Assembly elections, today staged a protest outside chief minister's official residence, demanding jobs.

The agitation was held after recent announcement by the chief minister that recruitments for various departments done little before March polls and some in violation of the model code would be scrapped and the process will start afresh.

The employment was created in the government departments, the Directorate of Health Services, Department of Mines and Geology, Electricity Department and Directorate of Education by the erstwhile Digambar Kamat government.

Several vacancies were kept on hold by Election Commission of India (ECI) as the offer letters were issued after the poll code came into effect for the assembly elections.

The BJP-led government of Manohar Parrikar that came to power defeating Kamat government, however, continued the embargo on the vacancies.

The protesters claimed that they had gone to meet the chief minister in the morning with a prior appointment.

"However, when a delegation went to meet him (Parrikar), he flatly refused to assure that everyone would be absorbed in the jobs," one of the delegates Sachin Gaonkar told reporters.

The chief minister apparently told members of the delegation that those candidates, who received their appointment letters through registered posts before the code of conduct became applicable, would only be considered for recruitment, and those who received the letters by a mode of hand delivery would be rejected.

As the ruckus outside his residence continued, Parrikar personally came out to meet the agitators, but could not convince them due to chaotic situation.

The agitators have decided to hold a sit-in protest tomorrow at the same venue to push for their demands.

The issue of largescale corruption in allotment of government jobs was made one of the rallying points during the pre-poll campaign by BJP.

Just watch the video of CM interaction with those frustrated youth.These people are not strangers,they are future of goa, and Cm using such rusty language is not justified. let keep politics aside...think this way, what happens if appointed people are given jobs only if it is officially registered with respective department and scrap that excuse of registered id etc. let department send letters to the appointed recruites one more time,so whoever was selected genuine will get job. OR you will see this youth struggling mostly from backward classes and goan origin. If Govt are so stubburn about this than why CM dont take inquiry on all the appoinments during previous regime.There were so many over age and some cases murderer recruited in some of sensitive dept.

In short all law are on poor goan people and you wont find any body of CM's class struggling..

looks like BJP supporters will get all the jobs and from Congress supporters also but on one clause " WHAT IS YOUR CASTE"....Thanks Mr PARRIKAR

Already a huge Army of 57,000 is too big to be supported by the hard working and tax paying population of this small state...

Make a flying squad to visit all the Govt Depts on surprise visit and look what the huge work force is engaged in doing....Audit their daily output...and you will find that thousands have no real work or are working far far below the prescribed norms.....

Re-deploy this surplus staff to send them where absolutely needed or the new Depts...

There is absolutely no need to recruit any clerical staff for the next ten years by conservative estimates...

Donot create any burden on the hard working and tax paying citizen by over recruitment...

Good that a vigilance inquiry has been already ordered into go into the whole scam....Impartial inquiry will bring out the ugly filth and dirt....

This is how the politicians work. Give employment letters just before the elections are to be announced. The man who is responsible for this is none other than Mr. Vishwajit Rane the Crown Prince of Satari. Being a minister of Health in the erstwhile government, he thought that it is his right to distribute the jobs in GMC hospital to his supporters in Satari. Does he have any conscience ? Was he a minister for Goa or for Satari Constituency only. His father have been MLA & Chief Minister,Speaker,Leader of the Opposition etc. for almost two generations now. Did he not have enough time to give employment to his constituents or the people of Satari ?Or was he busy to loot the exchequer and divert the Irrigation canals through his property ? Why are these people marching to the Chief Minister's residence? They should go and gherao Jr. Rane and ask for explanation from him. And if he has taken any money for the job done ask him to return it.

Another mess created by the Corrupt Congress MLA`s, notably Viswajeet Rane,for electoral benefit.

I wonder what was the price one had to pay to get these jobs.

We have heard that Valalnka Alemao was asking between Rs 5-7 Lakhs per PWD jobs.

if these boys file a writ petition in hc most of them would succeed. Their expectation of jobs is legitimate in most cases where their names are cleared despite of irregularities. Its only where there are gross irregularities only those would fail. Shalombab why dont u take up their cause and get them legal help. anyways they were political appointments but bjp does the same when in power.

There is strong evidence the elswhere corrupt and criminal nature ccongress govt. took bribes from all the youths who possessed employment letter.As the Election authority had consider these appointments as null and void,the cm parrikar is correct to cancell the appointment letters and issue fresh advertisement for the vacant post.

And now after elections are over. Even those who get employment would be mostly Hindus. Take for example starting with Avertano a young sportsman denied sports portfolio. And also those Catholics who already hold positions are being stripped of their posts. Not forgeting mOpa and Lokayutta.

It is really unfortunate that the poor guys and girls who were given the so called offer letters have to face the brunt and pangs of unemployement.....After all Government is a continuous process and hence if anyone should be held responsible it has to be the erstwhile government.....

Any good concerned government would find out if there was any corruption related recruitment and punish those involved.but then only time will tell whether this government is concerned about the welfare of the people or not
