GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 06 March 2012 22:29 IST

Eleven MLAs of the Congress, two of the NCP and one BJP were made to bite dust in the Assembly election, including big stalwarts and eight ministers.
The Congress ministers who were sent home are Churchill Alemao in Navelim, Joaquim Alemao in Cuncolim, Ravi Naik in Ponda, Aleixo Sequeira in Nuvem, Filipe Neri Rodrigues in Velim and Babu Azgaonkar in Pedne.
The other two ministers, belonging to the NCP, are Jose Philip D’Souza in Vasco and Nilkanth Halarnkar in Tivim.
The people also voted out three more Congress MLAs – Dayanand Narvekar in Aldona, Agnel Fernandes in Calangute, Francis Silveira in St Andre and Shyam Satardekar in Curchorem.
Two more former BJP MLAs, who had quit to join the Congress at the initiative of former health minister Vishwajeet Rane, were also voted out – Rajesh Patnekar in Bicholim and Dayanand Sopte in Mandrem.
Two more heavyweights – GPCC president Subhash Shirodkar in Shiroda and Valanka Alemao in Benaulim also faced a miserable defeat.
Shirodkar lost for the second consecutive time to BJP’s Mahadev Naik.
Valanka, Churchill’s daughter, was contesting for the first time.
The BJP however lost only one MLA – Damu Naik in Fatorda to independent candidate Vijay Sardesai.
The people who lost to the BJP are Narvekar (Glen Ticlo), Joaquim (Rajan Naik), Agnel (Michael Lobo), Babu (Rajendra Arlekar), Shirodkar (Mahadev Naik), Satardekar (Nilesh Cabral), Sopte (Laxmikant Parsekar), Halarnkar (Kiran Kandolkar) and Jose Philip (Carlos Almeida).
Mickky Pacheco himself and Caetan alias Caitu Silva of the GVP defeated Sequeira and Valanka in Nuvem and Benaulim respectively.
At the same time, independent candidates defeated Churchill (Avertano Furtado), Neri (Benjamin Silva) and Patnekar (Naresh Sawal).
Lavoo Mamledar of the MGP defeated Ravi Naik.

Rise and Fall Goa Congress Government. The congress leaders and ministers enjoyed in full swing
doing illegal business, corruption, criminal and so on.
Obviously if you want to be a rich guys congress is best party grab the poor kill and close the criminal file. This is good lesson to learn. Congress observers or
president does not know this ? ignored and given
Goa party to run family like Rane's, Alemmao, Monsorette, Ravi;s and so on. Now they have work to do sit opposition and kill bugs. Rane,Alemao,Ravi.
Monsoratt,Mauvin. Alex. Digamber etc. One more option for them to do dig mine in surla and transport
to Karnataka or buy fishing net and fish in dead sea..

The kick by the voters appears to be very powerful...Look at the kicked out candidates being tossed so high up ---the fall would probably set right their inflated ego and high arrogance--- acquired at public cost....
