Mangesh & Dilip were killed in the factory itself by local Balli assailants

Cashew factory at Balli in which Mangesh & Dilip were killed

Tribal activists Mangesh Gaonkar and Dilip Velip were brutally killed and thrown into the fire at a cashew factory in Balli by a group of local assailant, on the lines of spine-chilling incident of Best Bakery case during Gujarat riots.

The fact is getting established based on the circumstantial evidence available at the factory till date.

The police have also arrested two locals – Dipak Desai and Prashanti Faldesai – for leading a group to factory that restrained Mangesh from running out of the factory when it was on fire.

The crime branch of police however is not revealing anything further since the case is still being investigated. However, the evidence is still lying scattered in the factory premises.

The hidden facts since 25 May, the day UTAA activists were killed, came to light when the police permitted to discharge Soiru Velip and three others, who were rescued by the fire brigade from the burning factory.

According to Soiru, all six of them – including Mangesh and Dilip – were in the same factory building when the local assailants attacked the building at around 6 pm.

As they lit fire to the ground floor where the cashew kernels were stored by throwing fire from the backside windows, Soiru and three others locked themselves up in a rest room on the second floor.

Mangesh and Dilip, at this moment, were on the first floor.

They were panic as the assailants were also pelting stones on the first and second floor.

Soiru, when came out in between from the room but locked up himself inside immediately as the attack was still on, he had seen Mangesh running down from  the first floor.

According to what police told the court, Dipak Desai and Prashanti Faldesai had stopped Mangesh from running out from the factory building. Perhaps it was the same time Soiru had seen him last, running down.

Soiru and three others were rescued by the fire brigade at around 6.45 pm, when the assailants had gone away while the fire flames had reached the second floor from the ground floor.

It was during these 45 minutes the assailants caught hold of Mangesh and Dilip in the factory building, beat them up mercilessly and then perhaps burnt them down.

After rescuing Soiru and three others, around 75 personnel of the fire brigade used almost 30 fire vehicles to bring the fire under control.

During the operation, they found Mangesh’s dead body at the entrance of the staircase leading to top floors, in a fully charred state, at around 11 pm.

Dilip’s dead body was found next day at around 7 am, in a toilet on the second floor, with 94 per cent burns. The toilet is found with a pool of blood till date.

Interestingly, the postmortem report reveals that Dilip had no other injuries on his body. It is still a mystery, if he was not beaten up by the irate mob, how he reached the second floor in a burnt condition.

On the other hand, blood stains are found on the door frame at the entrance near the staircase, where Mangesh’s body was found.

Also on the second floor, at the end of the hall in an open kitchen, blood stains are found all over, including the floor, the wall, cupboards and even the plastic chairs.

It appears that the mob beat him up at the entrance, then on the first floor and then he was also taken to the second floor.

Except that the fire flames had reached the top floors from the godown on the ground floor, there are no signs of fire catching up neither on the first floor nor the second floor.Was Mangesh thrown down in fire from 2nd floor?

The fire spread throughout the ground floor, up to the staircase at the entrance. It is possible that the assailant threw down Mangesh in the fire flames from the second floor and then fled away by jumping out of the window at the first floor since it was just impossible to get out of the building from the ground floor.

Except the entrance door near the staircase, the godown was completely locked up from all the sides. The shutters were broken open by the fire brigade personnel only after 7 pm.

While the real story would definitely come out once the investigation is completed, it is surprising why the police have still not collected the whole evidence that is lying scattered on all the three floors of the factory building.

Balli is a Politically motivated case.

Sad for the innocent youth victims who fell to its prey,but why was this agitation held in balli when the godfathers are sitting in panjim and delhi.seems like it was planned by the BJP for its own vested interest using the tribals as bait to bell the congress and why a place like balli ! well, Since BJP knew that it would take along time for goverment machinery to reinforce if the agitation ran wild and thats what exactly happenned as planned so that BJP would than have all the time in the world to bark at the goverment.

But sad,all in vain.

Even if it is going to be labeled as shoddy, there is overwhelming evidence and video footage, and too much circumstantial, even forensics and DNA tests, the culprits will be found. But politics are likely to befudge the whole affair.
