Autopsy: Mangesh's leg & hand missing, Dilip with 94% burns

GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 30 May 2011 22:51 IST

The autopsy conducted of dead bodies of both the tribal youth – Mangesh Gaonkar and Dilip Velip – have revealed unbelievable shocking facts.

Dead bodies of both the protestors belonging to the United Tribals Association Alliance (UTAA) were found in the building of Anchal cashew factory at Balli that was put on fire by an irate group of locals when the tribals held a road and rail blockade on 25 May.

The dead body of Mangesh is found without a left hand and a right leg. The rest of his body, which was charred to death, has remained as a small ball.

But the doctors who conducted his postmortem have stated that they could identify other parts of his body, including his head.

Dilip, on the other hand, was found to be dead with 94 per cent burn injuries on his body. No other injury has however been witnessed during the autopsy.

Both the dead bodies were then handed over to their families.

Mangesh was from Gaodongrim in Canacona while Dilip belonged to Morpilla in Quepem.

There appears to be substance in the allegation made by opposition leader Manohar Parrikar and UTAA leader and Poinguinim BJP MLA Ramesh Tawadkar that both were killed by the locals and then thrown in the fire.

Charred body of Mangesh was found just at the entrance of the side staircase of the cashew factory. The mob had earlier put the building on fire by burning the cashewnuts stored in a godown on the ground floor.

The fire brigade, which had broken open the shutters of the godown to put off the fire, had not found Mangesh’s body inside. The suspicion that he was first killed and then his body was thrown into the fire becomes stronger.

Dead body of Dilip, with 94 per cent burn injuries, was found near the toilet on the second floor of the building. The fire had not reached there till the fire brigade had reached to rescue four more tribal youth from the second floor.

They were suffocating due to the flames and the smoke and could have died due to suffocation if the fire brigade had not reached in time, between 6.30 to 7 late evening.

The rescued tribal youth reveal that they were not aware where Mangesh or Dilip were when they were pulled out from the second floor.

Question thus arises when and how Dilip climbed up the second floor later and how he had 94 per cent burn injuries when the fire reached neither the first floor nor the second floor.

While the crime branch of the police is investigating into the incident on the lines of Best Bakery case during Gujarat riots, the state government has also instituted magisterial inquiry while also announcing a judicial probe.

Hi Ashvini:

Goa Police" the richest in the world" only act if they get money.

Their Motto is "NO MONEY NO ACTION".

Additionaly you need to know that Goa Police are well trained by their bosses on how to make this corrupt money.

Where ever and whenever you see a Policeman, rest assured there is money involved.

did you know that Goa Police are the richest in the world?.

They own more assets than even the highest paid Police official in the whole world.

NO one questions them on how they accquired these assets on their paltry & basic salaries.

It is shameful that such a tragic thing happened in Goa.

Apparently police where acting hand in glove with the cohorts.

The idiotic spokesperson of police, Deshpande the king of facebook should be kicked out for his insensitive comments.

A true impartial inquiry must be conducted and the guilty heads must be rolled out. Good thing Parrikar is fighting out this issue, wish other crdible people of integrity could join him to dethrone this nepotic Kangress govt. led by Digamber the eunuch (sorry eunuchs).
