GOANEWS DESK, PANAJI | 07 January 2011 20:14 IST

A new notification of Coastal Regulation Zone is finally out. All the structures raised before 1991 in the coastal belt would be now safe.

The union ministry of environment and forest has also ordered the state to find out post-91 illegal structures and commercial establishments along the coastline and demolish them within four months.

The new notification has made special provision for Goa and Karwar. Hence, the number of structures to be demolished would be now reduced.

The announcement in this regard was today made by state environment minister Alexio Sequeira.

The special provisions made for Goa are as follows:

As per the new notification, shacks would be allowed along the coastline.

But all the structures built after 1991and those violating CRZ norms will all be demolished as per the notification.

Commercial establishments built before and after 1991 would also be razed to the ground.

Hello Mr. Editor,

Is there any news on whats the status of the houses in Thivim area which were supposed to be demolished even after the amount for the land was already paid but the person who took the money was a fraud and gave us all duplicate receipts.

If you can please get a detailed report this, it would truly highly appreciated. You can even email it to me and I shall thank you everywhere.

Thanks,

Vilas Gadgil
