BJP leders shouting slogans in Goa Assembly

Opposition Bharatiya Janata Party members today stalled the proceedings of the whole Question Hour over home minister Ravi Naik’s statement that the BJP is shouting because they are not given hafta by the drug dealers.

Ravi tabled his statement of special mention on the table of the House as the opposition did not allow him to speak, when the House assembled after 12.30 pm, when the Question Hour gets over.

Speaker Pratapsing Rane as well as Ravi repeatedly told the opposition that he would clarify on the issues raised by the BJP in the police-politician-drug dealer nexus, but the opposition marched to the well of the House, stalling the proceedings.

Interestingly, Ravi's statement tabled in the House does not have any mention regarding the allegation of politician's nexus or Ravi's son Roy being involved in the drug trade.

The only indirect mention is as follows:

"Instead of appreciating the police, some people are criticising he police to demoralise them. It is not the case that drug activities were not there earlier from year 2000 to 2006 and prior to that. I have a chart of cases booked by police year wise. All the allegations are politically motivated to divert the attention of public from one subject to another."

The opposition earlier demanded that Ravi should name those politicians, who demanded hafta from the drug dealers but were not given.

Fatorda MLA Damu Naik also sought to know whether the MLAs, who are not demanding CBI inquiry into the case (the ruling party members) are keeping quite because they are getting hafta from the drug dealers.

BJP has been demanding CBI inquiry into the drug dealer-police-politician nexus right from the first day of the Assembly session that began on 19 July. It continued till the last day of the Assembly today.

Earlier, chief minister Digambar Kamat consistently maintained silence over the issue as Ravi was in the hospital. Ravi attended the House for the last two days, since yesterday.

Amidst chaos, Ravi was seen shouting that he did not make any statement regarding CBI inquiry to the media yesterday, when journalists met him. Few newspapers had reported today that Ravi has refused to have CBI inquiry. Ravi had actually told media persons that he would make a statement in this regard in the House.

Allegations about the involvement of Ravi and his son Roy in the drug trade have been made by drug dealer Atala's girl friend Lucky Farmhouse as well as Fiona Mackeown, mother of Scarlet Keeling, who was found killed on the beach after consuming drugs two years ago.

allegations involvement of Ravi lets CBI proof truth will come out.We all know most of congress and new comer are fully involved in corruption. Some of them drugs, criminal, goonda and cheating.But what outcome will be nothing lawyers in the courts will absorb the matter and guilty will be free this is law of India.

when a person is resiting proper inquiry to nail down the culprit and criminal in the drug case, it is good that such persons are not allowed to talk something crap to justify their unjust action and this has spared the spectators of their time being wasted.
