Wagh, Parrikar & a Priest

How interesting it gets when times change!!

I recall in the heady days of 2012, post “Revolution”, there was this rumor doing the rounds. That Vishnu Wagh was engaged in destabilizing games of the Parrikar regime , for denial of a cabinet berth.

When a colorful priest from the village, visited me at the clinic I asked if him if this rumor was true; This is what he said “thea Vishnun zor amchea Porrikarak destabilize kelo tor ami tege donge todun udoitole”(loosely translated it read that if Vishnu tried destablising our “beloved” Parrikar he would be dhirio, on the losing side).

Now that our tragic comic poet Vishnu is back to throwing his weight around in the destabilization game, I encountered this colorful (albeit downcast) priest again.

I said;”padre bab hem prakaran atam kitem  kashem?” (what’s the drift this time padre bab?)”

Eyes almost popping out with palpable rage he exclaimed “temchem sogleanche padd podum!! Amchem Goem already fondan podlam “(Translated loosely it said “Screw everything”)

As a reluctant revolutionary of 2012, I thought it my duty to report this voice on the street. I approached a self styled B.J.P power horse (who’s on the out skirts of power but thinks he’s at the  nerve center of it all) and related the incident to him.

His cocky (is there any other type of BJP worker) reply was: No sweat dotor, Even  if  R.P , mining ,MOI, casino issue are not solved and if everyone is discontented how does it matter?. We have the Modi wave on our side”

Gobsmacked and utterly despondent, I wearily trudged to the Miramar beach and sat by the shore. Drowning my sorrow in a plate of pani puri, and marking time on the sand. I eagerly waited for a Modi wave, a Wagh wave or in the distant thunder a Churchill/ Radharao wave to consume me and put an end to my misery.

But all the waves did was come threateningly close, tickle my feet and retreat back into that vast ocean called Indian democracy.

Disappointed at not being engulfed, I moved on,  and  approached my friend Aries Rodrigues to file a P.I.L in court against “waves”.

I’m waiting for my sms inbox on my mobile to light up with his usual triumphant news.

Dr. Rebello...."Eureka" Eureka"!!!

I get the drift about waves.

From Vishnu Wagh we will see the "Pot Belly" wave.

From Narendra Modi we will see the Sword or gun wave ..and perhaps a RSS slogan.

....and from Churchill or Radharao...we will surely see the "LOOTED" or "Black Money " wave.

Dotorbaab, just the other day I hear one cocky BJP enthusiast telling the other one, If Modi ji was the prime minister of India, there would not have been such a huge disaster in Uttaranchal. He would have definitely stopped it. The other ( not so cocky but a ' bhavarthi' BJP bhakt endorsed it saying, " You are right , it is written in Puranas too, Sambhavami yuge yuge. and Modi ji with his superpowers can do anything.

An onlooker like me wondered, " We had one Congress that was criticized often for being personality driven now BJP is following the same footsteps. But BJP is more powerful because it has a divine ( Not Bovine, the second Avatar who is strangely not worshiped as HOLY by the torchbearers of Bharatiya Vikrut Sanskriti ) man like Modi ji who can turn water into milk.

And likes of you will be swaept away in the wave dotor, Please keep a life jacket ready. Yeh Modi ji ki MAYA ( not Kodnani) hai.
