Why are you whining, Goans? Celebrate!

Besides the spectacularly artistic Shigmotsav that colourfully lit up Goa as it does every year, and which is the one festival that must be declared a symbolic pan Goa Festival, on the lines of Onam, Pongal et al that is celebrated by ALL communities in Kerala and Tamil Nadu in equal fervour; there were some other strange festivals and charades that gripped Goa in the week that went by.

1. Audhoot Trump, who sincerely should offer himself as Goa's CM candidate instead of propping impotent proxies, did a fantastic Houdini act with the Supreme Court, convincing them that their own demolition order was not worth the paper it was written on. Only Donald Trump could have pulled off something like this.

2. Manohar Parrikar, our overgrown juvenile super brat celebrated his 1st birthday as defence minister, on a virgin plateau with toy guns and weapons all to make him seem like Arnold Schwarzenegger. And all the kids were invited for the orgy. Great spectacle but zero benefit to the locals if you discount the melting ice cream and the asthmatic dust inhalation.

3. The sheer joy and delirious exhilaration after local activists were made to discover by orison authorities, that an innocent, weak anti mining activist, ended up fracturing his own hands- a medical miracle. In short NO ONE ASSAULTED VELIP! This calls for some local Urrac to toast to Velips’ stupid protest.

4. The bullying Karnataka government is hell bent on diverting the Mhadei for its irrigation project. That would effectively dry up the Mandovi. What this translates is that the benevolent casinos will be on dry river beds, and hence in a perfectly legal abode Goans should demand free chips, every day for this windfall. Paisa Vasool !!

So, seriously with so much to celebrate and rejoice, one wonders why these miserable Goans are forever whining?? Is it a genetic thing?? Is it a medical malady that predisposes to sadness and defeatism? Or in reality is it the lament of a dying species, gasping for air, feebly protesting by floating ad-hoc political parties, knowing fully well that by reposing their naive faith in charlatans of the highest order, before which they still meekly genuflect the end is near and the only positive of the coconut act is that we can safely cut to wood to light our pyre!!!

P.S. Good chance I'd be booked for sedition or blasphemy or something. I hope some benevolent lawyer defends me and my last wish before they send me to the gallows, is to hug Kanhaiya.. I'll experience some azaadi there.

Wonder why everyone is after doomsday predictions!

This has been the contention of activists after every project announced in last 10-15 years.
